FAQ
Simple answers to FAQ
What proxies exist?
Each network has its own affiliation and is used in certain conditions.
Residential proxies are the IP addresses of home Wi-Fi and cable Internet users (Comcast Cable, Charter).
Mobile proxies are the IP addresses of cell phone and mobile Internet users (Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile).
Datacenter proxies are the IP addresses of virtual and physical servers that are located in data centers.
College proxies are IP addresses associated with a network at a college or university.
Business proxies are IP addresses associated with office buildings or small businesses.
Do you provide IPs that belong to real users?
Yes, all IPs that we offer belong to real users, and we access their channels on mutually rewarding terms.
What tasks can your proxies solve?
We have a proxy for any task. Our support specialists are ready to select proxies for mass registrations, maintaining accounts on social networks, parsing and any other purposes.
How long does a proxy last?
We are a dynamic network. Even if your IP address goes offline, the system will provide a new IP in such a way as to look like you are a regular user. The new IP address is located in the same city and belongs to the same ISP (as specified in your order).
This means that a proxy lasts forever.
I found another company that offers residential proxies at a lower price. Why are you more expensive?
We have few real competitors whose proxy quality can be compared with ours. In comparison with these companies, the price of our proxies is several times lower.
Other companies that have a price lower than ours have a number of problems.
1. Some companies lower the price by replacing residential proxies with regular ones.
This can be checked on this site. Under extended version -> ip -> type, it should say residential.
2. Other services sell public proxies, which negatively affects quality.
There should be no open ports. You can check it on this site in the anonymity check section.
3. Another group of companies is experiencing problems with the IP rating — addresses can be "overheated" or "spamed". You can check the rating on this site.
What is port and proxy port stream?
The port (IP:PORT combination) is a dynamic proxy whose address is our node-xx-x.astroproxy.com server. The external port address (proxy address) varies depending on its settings. One port is associated with one external IP address at a time.
Flow proxy port is one of the names of some proxy services.
Is a port a single address?
A port (IP:PORT) is a proxy server. It is static.
An external IP address will change as you configure it when buying a port.
Why do I need to create separate ports?
Working with ports affects the likelihood of getting a ban. We recommend creating a separate port for each thread and changing the IP address after the task is completed, if possible.
How frequently can I change IP?
You can change IP address every 30 seconds. The IP will change without delays.
What’s a proxy pool?
Only online IPs can be part of a pool. Hand-picking digits to create addresses that are not actually online constitutes a scam.
How big is pool of proxies?
Our pool is growing all the time. It comprised more than 100,000 IPs per day and 1,000,000 unique IP addresses per month, when we were writing this post. For more accurate information, please, contact our support service [email protected].
What are the support service’s work hours?
The support service is available from 9:00 a.m. through 12:00 a.m. every day.
Response time depends on our team’s workload. Be patient, we will answer any and all of your questions.
What does uptime mean?
Uptime — the time the server is constantly running. The higher the indicator — the better the proxies work.
What is the uptime of AstroProxy?
We use dynamic proxies with advanced algorithms, which ensure a 99.9% uptime.
Proxies go down only in case of serious technical issues. I there is one, our team of technicians will promptly fix it, and we will compensate for the downtime.
How can I access the trial period?
Contact our support service and follow instructions. Feel free to ask us what settings and tariffs to choose, so you can work without a hitch.
How long is the trial period?
The trial period starts once you start routing traffic via a proxy. Its length depends on the test period specified in your order. We pass only test payments to the account.
What’s your trial grant?
We grant $2 for trial, so you can buy some proxy packages you need.
The trial starts once you run traffic via a proxy. You don’t need to worry even if you are unable to start right after grant receipt.
What is the price?
You pay us for building a port (a small fee) and traffic (the bulk of the price). Also you pay on a traffic-per-port basis.
The port may expire by traffic or cash – whichever runs out first.
What geo options do you offer and at what price?
You pay 2.5$ or more per gigabyte. Latest information on prices and geo is available on the order page.
Is it possible to select countries or states in the USA?
In the order panel you can select an IP in a country and/or city, in which we operate right now.
How does the connection work if you click "any" when choosing a country?
If you have chosen ‘Any’, the system will automatically select an IP from the pool. It will choose any address that is currently not being used.
Also, it can rotate IPs. There won’t be any country-level targeting, the system will choose IPs from different countries.
What do I pay when choosing a proxy?
You pay for the port and traffic. You do not need to pay separately for access to IP addresses — external addresses change depending on the settings.
How do I know how much traffic I need to use?
It all depends on your request. It needs to be tested.
For example three hours of active Facebook farming with video and photo viewing will take about 500 Mb.
How much traffic should I pay?
You will understand the required amount of traffic in the process of using it. The minimum order is 100 MB. Any port can be extended after traffic ends.
Do I have to pay monthly or after the end of the traffic?
If the month ends before you run out of gigabytes, you make your monthly payment.
If you run out of gigabytes before the month ends, you pay for another portion of gigabytes.
What kind of traffic do you charge?
We charge for one that turns out bigger. If you have downloaded more data than uploaded, the downloaded traffic will count and vice versa.
Can I change a country, build up traffic, and switch between IP rotation modes after purchase?
You cannot switch between countries. You can extend and build up traffic, switch between IP rotation modes and change your login.
What should I do if the traffic is over?
Any port can be extended after traffic expires.
You need to replenish the balance, and then click the "extend" button. After choosing the amount, money will be debited from the balance.
How many simultaneous connections can a port handle?
A port handles up to 50 TCP connections.
What is the number of users per channel?
The system provides individual ports, customers do not run across each other.
Where can I see the number of proxies, which I’m going to take?
We provide access to a pool of proxies. The number of ports is specified by you when placing an order. A port is equivalent to a dynamic proxy.
A dynamic (backconnect) proxy is one with an unchanging address (our server). The external address will change as you configure it to when placing an order.
What should I do to create a proxy list?
Create as many low-traffic (for example, 100 Mb) ports in your profile as you want to see in the list. Export the list in your preferred format.
Do you provide static IPs?
We are a residential proxy network, so we cannot guarantee availability of static IPs. However, there are extremely rare tasks where a static IP is needed.
Often, it is enough to connect to proxies located within a particular city and run by a particular ISP. Our server provides this when using city-level targeting.
Is it possible to pay for a proxy where each thread is a new IP address?
In AstroProxy, you buy a port with a prepaid traffic volume. The external address will change depending on how you have configured it during the purchase. The term “thread” is used in different ways, and in this context it means “a port.” You just need to buy the needed number of ports.
How do IPs change in per-request mode?
Ports work independently. If you change the address before it is closed, for each request, each connection will have its own IP address.
The per-request change mode is very specific. It is used only in certain types of parsing tasks, which should be used only after testing.
Why should I not get a new IP for every request?
As you do a task, the IP may change, and your target service feel suspicious.
This mode is great for proprietary software developers. Use it only if it really suits you and you fully understand how it works.
How can I change an external IP by HTTP-link URL?
There is a button in your profile and API (POST/GET) functions, which integrate into the software. You can change IPs through a click on the button or using API.
What is a rotation HTTP-link URL?
Our proxies are dynamic. When you connect to an IP, you actually connect to our server/port, and it’s URL is added to the software or browser just once. The external address will change as determined by settings or by the HTTP-link URL/API/button in your profile.
Where can I find the GET / POST request to change a new IP for the port?
Create a port with a rotate by HTTP-link URL function.
The link will be in your profile. The API key is available in the Settings panel.
ZennoPoster requires ports to change IP independently of each other. What should I use?
It should be changed using GET requests. Once you are finished with your work, you’ll better off using GET/POST and/or API
Can I change IPs through API based on specific parameters?
To change IP, you can use API or click the button in your profile.
IPs will rotate within the range specified in your order, our server will select IPs in an automated mode.
I purchased dynamic ports with IPs rotated by HTTP-link URL. I didn’t change address in my profile, it just change by itself. Why?
This can be due to high network activity. To avoid bans, you should use a separate port for each account and use city-level targeting. If you are using mobile proxies, use both city- and ISP-level targeting.
Sometimes the IP address changes automatically, although it was set up to change by time or HTTPs link. Why?
IPs may change from time to time due to network activity. If you have set the system to change IPs by city, they will rotate within your chosen city or ISP’s range. This makes proxies look like real users, which is more expensive yet more effective and secure.
Do your proxies work with Сraigslist and Ebay?
Yes, they do. We suggest that you use residential proxies with city-level targeting, or mobile proxies with city- and ISP-level targeting. This should help you avoid bans. Please, assign a separate port to each account.
What should I choose to work with social networks and multi-accounts?
If you are working with social media, run a separate port for each account and use city-level targeting to avoid bans.
For mobile proxies, use ISP-level targeting as well. Residential and mobile proxies are the best for those who work with social media.
Do not use datacenter proxies, because they are vulnerable, so you will get blocked right away.
What tariff should I choose for Facebook?
To advertise on Facebook, you must use:
• residential proxies with obligatory grouping by city;
• mobile proxies grouped by city and provider.
A separate port must be created for each account. Use the link to specify a change of address that cannot be changed while the account is running.
What would you recommend if I use Facebook?
1. Pay attention to the intensity of work in the account
Get traffic from 500 Mb per port or account.
Set the change mode by the link. Specify a separate port for each account. Do not forget about the mandatory grouping by city.
Try to make sure that the city and port match the city of "residence", which is indicated inside the account.
2. “Warm up” your account before launching ads
Start activity inside the site - increase the number of friends, subscribe to communities, like posts in the feed, leave comments.
Try to ensure that the language, activity, and location of your subscribers match the geography of the proxy as much as possible.
3. Be careful with long-term advertising
If you are planning a long-term advertising campaign, make several administrators at the fan page in case of a ban.
Then use traffic.
I need a proxy connection to boost user behavior data in search engines. Which one should I use?
You need to choose one of the following options:
• residential proxies with mandatory grouping by city;
• mobile proxies grouped by provider and city.
For the best effect, you should also:
• put the change of address "by link" or by an interval that is 15% more than the duration of the visit;
• create a separate port for each thread.
Is your SMTP open? Are proxies suitable for mailing lists?
AstroProxy is not suitable for SMTP mailings. SMTP on our proxies is closed.
Perhaps we will add a proxy for mailing lists later.
What if the WebRTC does not change?
If you have problems with WebRTC, you can:
• use antidetect browsers (Multilogin, Indigo, LinkenSphere, Aezakmi);
• disable WebRTC.
You can disable WebRTC:
• blocking technology:
media.peerconnection.enabled = false
• logging in using the default route:
media.peerconnection.ice.default_address_only = true
You can find WebRTC Block and WebRTC Leak Prevent plugins that solve the problem for Google Chrome and Opera.
What is Trust Score? Where can I check it?
Trust Score shows the reliability of a particular IP address. Based on this, the site can deny access to the user.
For example, Google and Facebook ban server proxies with a low Trust Score. You can check the score on this site.
Why are some proxies blacklisted?
Proxies get blacklisted when providers distribute one external IP to hundreds of users.
If one of the users sends spam from the computer, the IP address will be blacklisted. If the IP address belongs to the hosting, the blacklists will become spam protection.
The IP address is blacklisted. Can I use it?
Residential or mobile proxies will not get blacklisted unless you use SMTP to spam. With these types of proxies, blacklists can be disregarded.
If you use a blacklisted datacenter proxy, you will not be able to use SMTP servers.
Whoer blacklisted the proxy. What should I do?
Whoer is a service for checking information transmitted by your computer to the Internet.
Many mobile and residential proxies are blacklisted. Whoer reports that the blacklist only affects SMTP mailings.
Other tasks are not affected by the blacklisting of IP addresses.
